Ross Calvin
Ross founded Parhelion with a passion for the institution of sound money and that contributing to reengineering the monetary order is the most powerful and moral way to restore humanity’s creative genius.
For 15 years, Ross has relentlessly sought opportunities emerging from monetary dislocation around the world. Prior to Parhelion Ross was the founder of Agrigentum Capital, a global macro manager in currencies, volatility and emerging market equity which was the first hedge fund strategy comprehensively rooted in the Austrian School of Economics. Agrigentum began experiments with Bitcoin mining in 2013 and in 2017 developed a DAO for oil & gas targeting the reinvention of the petrodollar. Ross continues as a global macro investor as the CIO in Parhelion’s parent company, Solar Macro.
He is the publisher of the missive and podcast series Fire, Profit & Transcendence, covering topics such as mythology, poetry, entrepreneurship, global macro, and decentralized money. He is also the author of two books: The Austrian Method, Golden Age Principles in Global Investment, and The Saga of Freiheit, der Geist die Weltanschauungskrieg.
Ross is the director of the American Colossus Foundation which constructs public symbols espousing optimism, freedom, forethought and the fundamental nobility of Man.
He has resided in Beijing and North Africa and lives in Jackson, Wyoming. He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BS in Economics and Mandarin.
